Create small gifts with meaning:
In this winter workshop edition, you will dye textiles with plant dyes – warming, beautiful and handmade.
Choose your favorite projects: hand warmers, socks, hats, cases, scarves and more.
Together we work with natural color tones from walnut shell, logwood, chutney, avocado pits, onion skin and madder root.
All textiles are pre-treated (mordanted) by us to ensure that the colors adhere permanently and develop their natural depth.
You dye cotton and wool and create two small pieces that you can give away as gifts.
The dyed pieces will be washed and ironed in the studio after the workshop. You can pick them up a few days later – or have them sent to you by post for €6.50.
No prior knowledge required – just a love of design.
Duration & Procedure
The workshop lasts approximately 1.5 hours .
After a brief introduction to dyeing with plant dyes, you choose your projects and work independently in the studio.
There is time in between for conversations, tea and short breaks.
Participants
Maximum 6 people per time slot – a small, quiet group for focused work and individual support.

The studio is part of the Machwerk house – with a bathroom and a quiet outdoor area.
Materials & Clothing
All materials are prepared and included in the price.
Aprons are available on site, however we recommend clothing that can withstand small paint splashes.

Free of charge up to 48 hours in advance, after that a 50% cancellation fee applies.
Your access to the studio
The beginner's workshop is the first step to working independently in the Cosmaki studio.
After participating, you can purchase a studio pass and use our dyeing stations outside of the workshops – for your own projects, at your own pace.
You will receive more information about the Atelier Pass directly in the workshop.

We want to demonstrate that sustainable design is possible even on a small scale – without pressure, with simple tools, and a lot of curiosity. That's why we're opening our studio to families who want to experience and try something together.
With us, children not only learn how color is created – but also that clothing has value.
